Fieldstone Center
Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Program
Patient Referral Line: 800.582.1900
The pressures of life can be overwhelming at times. When
an individual is no longer able to function at home or at
work, psychiatric treatment may be the best choice. Fieldstone
Center's adult services offer an inpatient program designed
to treat the person holistically, with respect not only to
mental and physical problems, but to spiritual and social
needs as well.
The Adult Inpatient Program is a seven-day-a week, 24-hour-a-day
short- term, intensive, structured treatment program for men
and women 18 years and older. The hospital offers a safe,
comfortable, accepting atmosphere for patients requiring closer
supervision, protection and assistance with acute crises and
symptom control. Nursing services are provided 24 hours per
day and on-site attending physician services are also available
daily. Each patient's treatment program is supervised by the
attending physician.
The Program is Designed to:
- Diagnose and identify patient problems amenable to treatment
with short and long-term goals and objectives
- Individualize treatment to each patient's unique needs
- Offer physical, psycho logical, spiritual and social
assessments throughout the treatment process
- Provide an intensive therapeutic environment which promotes
a rapid stabilization and enhances self-control
- Provide treatment that assists patients to define personal
needs, strengthen self-esteem, assume increased responsibility
for one's own life and assure access to community support
systems
Treatment
The treatment team for patients consists of a spectrum of
mental health professionals. In addition to the psychiatrist
and nurse, the team includes psychologists, counselors, occupational
and recreational therapists, social workers, mental health
specialists and other staff.
Experience shows that recovery depends on patient involvement.
So, the therapeutic process provides support for the patient
as well as meaningful activity throughout the treatment day.
Patients learn more effective ways of coping with their problems.
Typically, treatment includes individual, group and family
therapy, as well as various other activities. In any given
therapy program, a wide range of medical, psychological and
social work therapies may be used. Such procedures range from
the use of medications to psychotherapy-all aimed at modifying
adverse conditions in the patient's life situation.
Interaction among patients-whether in therapy groups or
other activities-is planned in such a way as to be of therapeutic
benefit. In addition, family groups are held to include the
support of family members in the continued progress of the
patient.
To keep the focus on returning the patient to the community
and on preventing the disorder from becoming chronic, our
treatment team keeps close ties with the family and community.
We encourage self responsibility and emphasize a rapid return
to a productive and meaningful life.
