BCHS nurse receives perinatal award
Tamara Morse, a registered nurse in Battle Creek Health System's Family Birth Center is a 2009 recipient of the Perinatal Excellence Award. The recognition, given by the Southwest Michigan Perinatal Association, recognizes nurses who exhibit excellence in clinical nursing.
Morse's award singles out her leadership in advocating for the patients she cares for as a labor, delivery, and postpartum nurse. She mentors co-workers on perinatal issues, and recently took advanced training for perinatal loss and bereavement; she coordinates the perinatal loss program for the unit. This past year, she chaired the hospital's involvement with the March of Dimes Walk for Babies.
Morse received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Western Michigan University before joining BCHS in 2001.
