Business Brief: BCHS cancer director named to state board
Wayne Young, director of The Cancer Care Center at Battle Creek Health System has been named to the board of directors of the Michigan Cancer Consortium (MCC). His three-year term begins January 1, 2010.
The MCC is a broad-based partnership of public and private organizations that come together to communicate, coordinate, and share resources in order to reduce the burden of cancer among the citizens of Michigan. The consortium's focus is research-based and results-oriented cancer prevention and control.
Young has served on both the Susan G. Komen for a Cure national board of directors and the SW Michigan affiliate board, and is a member of the Calhoun County Cancer Control Coalition.
