BCHS receives two national awards
Battle Creek Health System was recognized recently with two operational excellence awards. At the Sodexo Facility Solutions National Conference in San Antonio, Texas this past month, BCHS was honored with the Quality Service in a Small Showcase Account, and in Energy Management.
Selection for the Quality award is based upon successfully completing specific measurements. The energy award follows the hospital's American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) recognition in 2009 for its efforts in reducing energy consumption. BCHS was one of only ten hospitals in the United States to receive the ASHE honor and the only one in Michigan.
BCHS is in the east region, which includes all Sodexo facility hospitals east of the Mississippi River.
Sodexo is the leading provider of food and facilities management in the United States and Canada. It has contracted services to Battle Creek Health System for plant operations since 1990, food service since 1991, environmental services (EVS) and biomedical engineering since 1996, and the service response center since 1997.
