Felpausch Foundation golf outing helps BCHS cancer fund
To honor those suffering from cancer, the Felpausch Foundation hosted its first annual golf outing in July. It raised more than $17,000 for the Cancer Medication Fund at Battle Creek Health System. This fund assures that cancer patients who have little or no insurance will have access to needed medications for their treatments.
"As a cancer survivor, I can tell you first-hand how important the support and expertise of The Cancer Care Center staff is for people diagnosed with this disease," says Corey LaGro, golf outing coordinator. "Thanks to the many generous contributors to and players in this event, cancer patients who might not have the insurance to cover their medications will have access to them and the caring support of the BCHS cancer center's staff. My deepest appreciation goes to all who made this outing such a success."
Felpausch Foundation was formed through the success of a three-generation grocery chain founded in Hastings, Michigan in 1933. It invests its resources in local charitable causes.
