RML building new patient service center
Regional Medical Laboratories broke ground recently on a new $2.5 million patient service center at its current site on College Street. Expected completion of the building project is February 2009.
The 15,000 sq. ft. addition to the clinical laboratory will offer a spacious waiting area, private registration booths, larger private specimen collection and phlebotomy spaces, and a new patient entrance with a canopy. The upper floor will house administrative offices, conference rooms, and training areas.
"We are undertaking this project because of our desire to better serve our clients with even faster and more complete service," says Gary Roecker, RML's administrative director. "Whether it be a physician's office or the patient, this new addition will go a long way in helping us provide even higher customer satisfaction."
RML, a joint venture laboratory formed in 1987 between Regional Pathology Consultants, P.C. and Battle Creek Health System, employs 185. Along with providing clinical testing for the hospital, RML performs approximately 1 million billable tests annually. Its customers include area hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, health departments, industry, and veterinarians throughout Southwest Michigan. RML has recently received continued accreditation from the College of American Pathologists at both the College Street and BCHS facility laboratories.
