The Haven supports BCHS pediatric unit
In honor of National Homeless Awareness Month, members of The Haven's 'Women In New Life (WIN) program donated care packages to Battle Creek Health System's pediatric unit.
All of the participants in the project have been homeless but are in the transition of becoming self-sufficient members of the community. As a way of saying 'thank you' to the community for helping them get back on their feet, members of the WIN program took on this project to help hospitalized youngsters at BCHS.
The WIN initiative is a six-month to two-year transitional housing program where families receive long-term life skills training to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.
