Saturday, October 15, 2005
7:45 a.m. registration, ride begins at 8:30 a.m.
The Cancer Care Center at Battle Creek Health System
WHO: Cancer Survivors and their families
WHAT: Bike Rally of Hope sponsored
by The Cancer Care Center at Battle Creek Health System
WHEN: Saturday, October 15. Registration
at 7:45 a.m., ride begins at 8:30 a.m.
WHERE: Parking lot in front of The
Cancer Care Center at Battle Creek Health System. It
will be a very short ride of approximately 14 or 15
city blocks beginning at The Cancer Care Center winding
through Battle Creek neighborhoods before ending at
Festival Park next to McCamly Plaza Hotel in downtown
Battle Creek. A special community breakfast follows
the ride.
WHY: This bike rally is part of a
larger program that commemorates the W.K. Kellogg Foundation
75th Anniversary Celebration. Dr. Lawrence Einhorn,
whose patients include among others Lance Armstrong
and ice skater Scott Hamilton, will speak at a number
of Battle Creek meetings, including a community breakfast
session in the Branson Ballroom at McCamly Hotel that
immediately follows the bike ride.
This is not a race, but a visible display of the power
that individuals and families have in overcoming overwhelming
obstacles.
